The ARTION team was in Chios to prepare for the 2nd Greek-Turkish Neurosurgical Meeting, which will take place on May 15-16, 2026, at the Homerion Cultural Center of the Municipality of Chios, as part of efforts to strengthen scientific cooperation between the neurosurgical communities of Greece and Turkey. Despoina Amantidou, Managing Director of ARTION, together with Prodromos Nikolaidis, Project Manager, visited the conference venue and met with local authorities with a view to collaborating on the successful hosting of the conference on the island of Chios.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ioannis Malafis, Mayor of Chios and Director of the Radiology Department of Skylitseio Hospital, as well as Mr. Kostas Moundros, President of the Chios Tourism Organization. The discussion focused both on the organization of the conference and on the potential for promoting Chios as a high-quality destination for hosting international scientific conferences.
The scientific program of the conference maintains the same basic focus that made the first meeting in Smyrna in 2025 so successful, focusing on young scientists and trainees.
During the conference, participants will have the opportunity to explore topics such as anatomy, diseases, diagnosis, and surgical techniques through examples and cases involving the posterior cranial fossa. The aim is for all participants to leave Chios enriched with knowledge and experiences that will accompany them in their daily practice.
