The Thessaloniki Medical Association celebrated its one hundredth anniversary with a special one-day conference on Saturday, 30 November, at the OLYMPION Cinema. The event focused on the relationship between medical science and artificial intelligence, the “post-human era,” and future prospects.
Distinguished speakers addressed topics such as digital immortality, health systems in the age of artificial intelligence, and innovations in healthcare. Additionally, the conference featured roundtables, honorary awards for former presidents of the association, and historical reflections on the association’s centenary.
The president of the association, Nikolaos Nitsas, emphasized that the event was dedicated both to highlighting the association’s historical journey and to shaping the future of medical science. Interviews with former presidents were screened during the meeting, while in the evening, an anniversary concert took place at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, featuring Mario Fragoulis and the association’s choir. Proceeds from the concert will be donated to local charities.
