Dear friends of the Congress,
I hope the new year brings us what we all want: a return to normality. How this new normality will look like and which new influences we choose to keep, still remains to be seen.
But one thing is certain: the pandemic has highlighted the pros and cons of distance education and communication. So, let’s pick the most important pros of this process and invest in hybrid forms of education and communication in the future. Anyway, this is the present and not the future!
The International Congress on Physical Education and Sport Science of the Department of Physical Education & Sport Science with its 28th event and the 1st e-Congress on Sport Science, “paved” the way and pioneered once again. This initiative was, admittedly, a great success.
As the Covid-19 pandemic remains threatening, we are hosting the 29th International Congress on Physical Education and Sport Science, online again this year, but on a new platform built specifically for e-conferences and offering a completely new “virtual” experience. The success of this conference is guaranteed by your participation through the submission of papers and your registration in the conference, which as always, we expect to be great.
The congress will feature two keynote speeches, on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 May in the afternoon. The first keynote speaker is Dr Theodore J. Angelopoulos, President of the Department of Rehabilitation and Movement Science, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, University of Vermont, USA, who will focus on the role of muscle metabolic on the function of the organism, an issue always relevant and important. The second speaker is Professor Renate Zimmer, former Chair of the Department of Sport Science at Osnabrück University, and the Institute for Preschool Education and Child Development in Lower Saxony, Germany, who will focus on movement education in the preschool years, a very relevant issue and a fundamental one for Physical Educators. As always, we will also prepare interesting Webinars and Web Tables, as well as Podcasts on burning issues of Sports Science. I invite you to give your e-presence once again at the 2nd e-Congress on Sport Science, at the 29th International Conference on Physical Education & Sport Science. Get vaccinated, stay healthy and on 14-16/05/2021 let’s all participate in our favorite conference.
