Dear colleagues and friends,
On behalf of The European LGBT Police Association, I have the pleasure to invite you to the EUROPEAN LGBT POLICE ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE – EGPA 2020, which will be held from June 24th to June 26th 2020 in Thessaloniki, Greece.
The European LGBT Police Association is an umbrella organization aiming to bring together police LGB and T organizations from across Europe and build confidence within the LGBT+ community. The Association supports police forces and national police establishments in the development of operational policing knowledge and services that will enhance services to the LGBT+ community and represents National LGBT+ Police support networks on issues collectively faced.
The main objective of the Conference is to bring all of us, the members of the Association together to share our experiences, report and expose difficulties, inequalities and crime in our working environment, to network and to learn from each other.
In August of 2016, the Dutch National Police held the 1st World LGBTQ Conference for Criminal Justice Professional. It was the first time that Greek delegates took part and the conference was well attended by members of police organizations, public prosecution services and departments of justice from 26 countries and six continents.
This year, the conference will be held in Greece, in the city of Thessaloniki, a modern metropolis bearing the marks of its stormy history and its cosmopolitan character, which give it a special beauty and charm.
Moreover, in June 2020, the heart of the European LGBTQI community will be beating in Greece, as Thessaloniki is hosting EuroPride.
We are looking forward to welcome you in Thessaloniki and we wish you a fruitful and pleasant stay!
Michael Lolis
President of Police Action
