Joint International Symposium on Deformation Monitoring, JISDM 2019

TΗΕ SYMPOSIUM

The School of Rural and Surveying Engineering (SRSE) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) is proud to host and organize the “4th Joint International Symposium on Deformation Monitoring”, (JISDM) in May 15-17, 2019 in Athens.

JISDM carries the 40 years long tradition of the Int. Federation of Surveyors (FIG) and the Int. Association of Geodesy (IAG) joint symposia in the field of deformation monitoring and more recently the active sponsorship of the Int. Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS).

The symposium aims to connect research in deformation measurement techniques & technologies, analysis and interpretation with advanced practice.  Side activities of the symposium and a rich social programme will be announced.

Previous locations of JISDM symposia are Hong Kong (PolyU, 2011), Nottingham (University of Nottingham, 2013) and Vienna (TUV, 2016).

THEMATIC TOPICS

The symposium welcomes contributions in all aspects of deformation monitoring in geodesy and geomatics, including but not limited to:

Static and dynamic modeling of deformations, QC/QA and optimization techniques in deformation analysis, Photogrammetric and computer vision methods, Artificial intelligence and augmented reality for deformation monitoring, Innovative algorithms and data processing techniques.

 

·      {C}   SENSORS

Optical systems and total stations, GNSS-based monitoring, Laser scanning and LiDAR systems, Camera-based monitoring, Ground and spaceborne radar, Fibre-optics and geotechnical sensors.

·      {C}   INTEGRATION AND AUTOMATION

Sensor fusion, Geo-sensor networks, UAV and miniaturized sensors for change detection and SHM, New and low-cost sensors for deformation monitoring, Web-based and smart monitoring solutions.

·      {C}   APPLICATIONS 

Local and regional geodynamics, Deformation monitoring for construction engineering, Structural health monitoring, Vibration monitoring and dynamics, Big and tall structures monitoring, Monitoring of cultural heritage, Monitoring of geohazards, Ground settlements and landslides, Bridge and tunnel applications, Dam and mining applications, Metrology and industrial applications.

Educational aspects in deformation monitoring, Safety, health and environmental issues, Project management for deformation monitoring, Standardization and data exchange policies, Economic and social implications of deformation monitoring works

THE PARTICIPANTS

Our objective in organizing JISDM 2019 is to bring together leading experts from the academia, the industry and representatives from public authorities with promising young scientists.  The Symposium provides an excellent opportunity to the participants for interaction and scientific discussion in new areas worthy of investigation in each of the conference’s topics.
